Thank you, blackstarryskye, Indiana, for your review of Mark Twain National Forest in Rolla, MO.
Hmmmm.
This feels very much like a description of your emotional state at the time rather than any actual information about the park which is not helpful at all. However, I have A LOT of questions about the Rainbow People (or, as I’ve learned, Rainbow Family) event and I wish you’d included more. My main question is: It’s a giant orgy in the wilderness, right?
Free spirit or not, if you’re potentially going to spend weeks in the forest, it seems obvious you would need food and water. Sorry to be so blunt but c’mon. After even one group sex event you’d at least need a Gatorade.
On a serious note, you have given me another opportunity to talk about mistakes people often make. This one is worse to me than the "I couldn’t care less" issue because it isn’t just confusing; it doesn’t make any sense.
Let’s consider the sentence, “I guess it wouldn’t of been so bad if I had been used to camping…”
If you remove the contraction from “wouldn’t” it becomes “would not” and if you add that back into the sentence it reads “I guess it would not of been…” That doesn’t make any sense! None!
I’m not the Queen of grammar and I’m certainly not one to talk, most of my writing reads how I would speak it out loud, BUT this is the easy stuff. Take the extra thirty seconds to reread your very short review and put the word “HAVE” where the word “HAVE” belongs. Geez!
Two out of five stars.
I’m going down a Rainbow People rabbit hole now.
See you next Tuesday.
